A new grassroots organization is helping reshape NW Goldberg by welcoming new residents while investing in shared spaces and relationships across communities.
Founded in 2023, Mezuzah Detroit is working to create a walkable, equitable Jewish community in the heart of Northwest Goldberg. With a strong focus on inclusivity and local collaboration, the organization has partnered with NW Goldberg Cares to ensure that neighborhood revitalization efforts support both new and longtime residents.
Since its launch, Mezuzah has helped over 100 individuals move into the neighborhood, contributed to public space projects, and begun plans for a kosher market and coffee shop. Their work highlights a model of shared investment that prioritizes dignity, diversity, and deep local ties.
