In Northwest Goldberg, a growing network of mini-parks is transforming vacant lots into vibrant public spaces—and drawing investment, pride, and momentum back into the neighborhood.
NW Goldberg Cares recently launched a community-funded campaign to create McGraw Mini Park, part of its broader “20 by ’25” initiative to activate 20 green spaces by the year 2025. The park, funded by over $11,000 in donations with matching support from MEDC and partners like the Gilbert Family Foundation, will feature benches, a walking path, art installations, and native landscaping.
Since the initiative began, the nonprofit has seen over $1 million in private investment flow into the neighborhood, a testament to the power of thoughtfully designed public space. These parks not only beautify the area—they serve as active hubs for reading clubs, youth sports, and neighborhood connection.
