While this uptick is promising, local leaders—including NW Goldberg Cares—note that Henry Ford’s ownership of multiple vacant parcels remains a barrier to more comprehensive revitalization. With the hospital holding onto these properties, redevelopment has slowed in key areas. Community advocates are calling for Henry Ford Health to more actively participate in neighborhood restoration—suggesting that meaningful, locally-informed use of these parcels could significantly benefit longtime residents.
