Hollywood & Community Team Up to Launch Spotlight Park

A new pocket park featuring a community stage brings performance, public art, and neighborhood energy to NW Goldberg—thanks to a bold partnership with FOX Entertainment.

In September 2021, NW Goldberg Cares unveiled Spotlight Park at McGraw and Linwood—its fourth pocket park since 2019. Funded in partnership with FOX Entertainment to support the network’s Detroit-set series The Big Leap, the park centers around a circular stage for neighborhood-led performances, from live music to film screenings. Additional features include custom murals by Alex Yanes, flower beds, and a custom fence by local artist Eric Froh.

The park isn’t just about green space—it’s meant to “revive a resilient and sustainable connection to the arts in the community,” said songwriter and resident Audra Kubat. As founder Daniel Washington puts it, the stage creates “another touch point for people to realize their dreams here.”
