PROJECT TIMELINE

Property Aquired from DLBA

We acquired the home from the Detroit Land Bank Authority after three months of negotiation. The house was slated for demolition after being vacant for more than 15 years and having running water in the basement for an  undetermined amount of time.

Gutting Begins

We started this project by fully gutting everything down to the studs. We had to do some major work as both dormers failed causing major water damage.

January 2022

Framing

We fully rebuilt both dormers to the house to make way for two bathrooms. The house was reconfigured to create an open floorplan on the first floor and two bedrooms on the second floor.

October 2023

Drywall

We installed all new drywall after our new mechanicals and spray-foam insulation. This project was unique in that we had all of the corners rounded.

December 2023

Painting

We decided to be bold in this house and paint the first floor all black, including the ceilings. We thought it made for a moody, dramatic vibe in the home.

January 2024

Finishes Beginning to be Installed

This house features beautiful, custom oak trim and floor-to-ceiling cabinets.

February 2024

Finished

This house was listed for one week, before we accepted an offer.
