Rest. Play. Ride. Park Adds Function and Fun to NW Goldberg

A neighborhood bus stop becomes a place to play, rest, and reconnect — all thanks to the creative vision behind NW Goldberg Cares.

In 2022, NW Goldberg Cares transformed a once-vacant lot into Rest. Play. Ride. Park — a multifunctional space designed to serve both kids and commuters. Located at 6326 Linwood Street, the park features the neighborhood’s only covered bus shelter, playful seating, and custom-designed equipment selected by a youth advisory board.

The project reflects NW Goldberg Cares’ commitment to meeting everyday needs while making public spaces joyful and purposeful. Rest. Play. Ride. Park was funded through the City of Detroit’s Strategic Neighborhood Fund and represents a community-first approach to equitable urban revitalization.
