CURTIS JONES PARK
1941 FERRY PARK
DETROIT, MI 48208
The CURTIS JONES PARK, known affectionately as The CJ, will be home to NW Goldberg’s first and only combination outdoor basketball court and event space.
The CJ consists of a NBA-sized basketball court complete with six hoops, playground, walk path and pavilion.
The court’s surface will be painted by an artist to create a unique surface that hasn’t yet been done in the city of Detroit. The CJ fills a critical void in the NW Goldberg neighborhood - a safe, secure place for residents, both children and adults, to safely play basketball.
The CJ will double as an outdoor event space that will provide for a variety of public and private events during all seasons, such as basketball camps, health fairs, block parties and back-to-school giveaways.
The CJ is named after famed but often forgotten Northwestern High School basketball legend Curtis Jones.
