DELEON WILLIAMS, LEAD INSTRUCTOR & HOLLY SOLACK, INSTRUCTOR

READING IN THE HOLLAND MAZE aims to create access to literacy and music for Detroit pre-K through 2nd grade children (ages 4-8). The innovative program builds social cohesion and offers a safe space for children and families to learn and create positive memories through reading, music and interactive instruction.

This summer, we are proud to offer two programs for children.

CITY NEIGHBORS PROGRAM:

This program, informed by the Project Approach, will focus on the city of Detroit, the history of its communities and the future of its neighborhoods. Teachers and children learn together through various educational and research activities including concept webbing, read-alouds, field site visits, and visits from experts.

READ-ALOUD PROGRAM:

This program, similar to previous READING IN THE HOLLAND MAZE programming, will offer drop-in, interactive read-aloud sessions on Thursday afternoons.
